Depiction of Saint Joseph Augustine Benedict Cottolengo with a relic (a piece of cloth from his clothes).
Fine late 19th century frame - Important processing of the decoration and supports for the internal effigy in filigree style. The frame measures 32.5 X 40.5 X 4.0 cm.
(Born in Bra, 3 May 1786 - Died in Chieri, 30 April 1842) was an Italian priest, the founder of the Piccola Casa Divina Provvidenza and of the congregations connected to it: brothers, nuns and priests of Cottolengo.
He was proclaimed a Saint by Pope Pius XI in 1934.
His liturgical memorial falls on April 30.
He is considered one of the most important social saints of Turin.
