Masonry,
Interesting statuette of the Freemason brother George Washington.
President Washington was initiated on November 4, 1752, in the Fredericksburg Lodge, Virginia, and in 1788 became the first master of the new Alexandra Lodge.
The following year he was elected President of the United States, and when he laid the cornerstone of the United States Capitol he wore his Masonic apron, an apron, incidentally, that had been given to him by General Lafayette, another hero of the American Revolution, also a Free Mason.
Washington died at the age of 69, leaving his ideals of liberty, justice, and brotherhood as a legacy to future generations.
Our figurine, produced in West Germany in 1957 with the manufacturers mark on the base (W. Goebel) is made of hand-decorated porcelain.
Height 14.5cm. 7cm. x 4cm. Weight 120 gr.
