Brass, iron, leather, mineral stone - Tibet - mid-20th century. Part of Himalayan Temple armor called (byang khrab).
Here we present a helmet (icags) made up of ten arched plates, 6 of which are decorated with an apotropaic symbol, probably dragon heads, and ending with a plume.
From the helmet's crown hang two rows of thin ferrous metal lamellae joined with leather thread. (traces of rust).
High on the forehead is a beautiful green serpentine stone plate depicting a Buddha with definition of faith and protection.
Our helmet, we believe is a copy or replica, but we are not experts in Tibetan armor!)
