From northern Peru (desert area), lively ritual vases with human or animal-shaped parts, refer to the noble elite with symbols of economic power or to the religious and mythological world of the Moche, Nasca and Huari cultures.
The vase we propose belongs to the Moche or Mochica Culture, this measures: Height 21.0cm. Width 17cm. Depth 19.5cm. Weight 500 gr.
The vase is in excellent condition and well preserved.
Purchased locally on travels circa 1980, sold to Arkadia Gallery circa 2000.
