From northern Peru, lively ritual vases with human or animal-shaped parts refer to the noble elite with symbols of economic power or to the religious and mythological world of the Moche, Nasca and Huari cultures.
The vase we propose belongs to the Moche or Mochica Culture, this measures: Height 26.0cm. Width 15cm. Depth 12.5cm. Weight 450 gr.
Purchased locally on travels around 1980, sold to Arkadia Gallery around 2000.
Under the vase, in addition to the serial numbers of recognition written by the Museum, an ink stamp with, in addition to the logo, the words REPLICA and Belonging to the heritage....
Being a replica, it does not require an export license.
